Arrow screen is a lesser work, woven by guild artisans in a Guild during the current Turning by the method of Tellan, the Keeper of Tallies. It holds no Seal-shard and no hungry spirit. Many copies can exist, and each is spent in a single battle.
Unrolled before the fighting, it shelters the whole army at once. For that battle every one of its holder's companies is harder to hurt with shot from afar.
It is a favourite of the coreless lineages. A Human lord cannot cast a ward over their soldiers, so whatever shelter they carry must come by an allowed route, such as a work the lord may operate. The work does the sheltering; the lord casts nothing. The lineages have a saying for it: the least costly shelter is the one you carry with you.
