Summon eagle lion is a complex spell of Bloom, the affinity that Virenna, the Greenmother holds. It takes several turns to cast, and it calls Eagle lion down from the heights: a hunter's body on an eagle's wings, which strikes, turns and strikes again before the enemy has found it. Kingdoms that train Greenmother's Call prize them, for the art's cultivators say a beast that hears the call fights as if its young were behind it.
They nest on bare crags where nothing seems to grow. The affinity-born of the high woods say that is the point: Virenna, the Greenmother holds back barrenness, and a nest on bare rock proves that growth reaches even there. They also say that only one climber ever went higher than their nests, and he tore the sky doing it.
Mages of Pyre and Lumen can reach the spell; mages of Reverie and Umbra cannot. Outside Bloom it costs more, fails more easily and calls fewer. A deeper realm calls more. Like every spell pressed into a core since the Age of the First Sealborn, it perishes at the Unsealing.
