Mind mote is a tiny elemental of Reverie: a spark of stray thought that drifts and flickers. A mage casts Summon mind mote, and the sparks drift out of the Welter into the kingdom.
Each is frail and quick. It strikes at the enemy's mind from a distance, and a crowd of them can unsettle a whole line. Mana keeps them, a very little each, and they wink out when the mana is withdrawn.
Reverie cultivators love to say that every Sealborn carries a world that now exists only in the mind: the life they remember from before they fell. They tell a story about the motes to match. When a foreign soul first wakes beneath the Scar, they say, it lets fall a few thoughts from its old life: a name, a street, the smell of a kitchen. The Welter gathers those thoughts up and gives each a spark. Calling a mote, they say, is calling someone's forgotten memory to fight.
