Sellsword is a fighter of the Hallow who sells a blade to any kingdom that pays. Hiring one costs geld and people, and the Barracks organise the contract. A Sellsword is Plain, like every drilled soldier, and cares nothing for the affinity of the core that pays.
Do not mistake one for a Wanderer. The Wanderers also serve for pay and leave when it stops, but they are foreign souls with heart demons, hired as heroes. A Sellsword is native ordinary folk with a trade.
It is a good trade. A Sellsword presses in with a further strike and strikes true, and the card shows what each skill does. The folk remember that sellsword companies grew rich in the Age of the First Sealborn, during the devouring of small kingdoms. They always sold to the larger side.
Upkeep is paid in geld, and unpaid soldiers desert. A Sellsword can be sent home when the work is done.
