Stone gazer is one of a scaled people who live where Reverie runs strong. A mage casts Summon stone gazer, and it comes slithering out of the reeds. Its upkeep is paid in mana, and it is dismissed when the mana stops.
Its gaze holds the living still. Those it looks at forget how to move, as a dreamer forgets how to run. It spits poison from a distance, fills its enemies with dread, and its scales turn blows.
It hates folk of human kind above all others: Plain soldiers, and the soldiers of the Human lineages too. The card shows it strikes them hardest.
The Human lineages have their own account of this. Their power is the will, resolve practised until it holds under fear. Their songs say the gazer's eyes were made to test exactly that. A mind of human kind, they sing, is the one it most wants to hold still, because it is the one most likely to move again. Human soldiers are taught to meet its gaze on purpose.
