Wolf shifter is a fighter who wears a wolf's shape in battle. It carries no affinity and is Plain; it is not one of the affinity-born peoples.
The folk say shifters are born among those who live at the edge of the Mist, where the Covenant has not yet fixed the ground. The Wanderers also come into each new Hallow that way, and some folk take shifters for Wanderers. The Sealborn disagree: a shifter carries no heart demon, they say, only a beast. These are sayings, not settled record.
In battle it fights hand to hand with a first blow and a follow-up blow, and presses in with a further strike besides. It endures, heals its own wounds and shrugs off much of what hits it. The card shows what each does.
No recruiting hall trains it, so it has no recruitment price, and nothing in the present rules yet brings it to a kingdom. Its upkeep is paid in geld, with a small mana cost that the folk say holds its wolf shape and its own shape together. Unpaid service ends, and it can be dismissed.
