Orchard fruit looks like a basket of ripe fruit. It is a lesser work: guild artisans prepare it in a Guild with the method of Tellan, the Keeper of Tallies, and it holds no Seal-shard. There are many baskets. Like every made thing it is Plain, and it is spent when it is used.
Set it out in your own kingdom and a troop of Great ape arrives. The card shows the likely range, and chance decides the number. The operator casts nothing; the work releases what was bound into it. Once the apes are there, their own card says what they cost to keep.
The artisans say the fruit is gathered where Bloom runs strong, and that the apes who fed from that tree will follow its scent into any kingdom. Things grow at all because Virenna, the Greenmother holds the First Seal against barrenness. The artisans say this fruit grows a little too well.
Farmers who find a basket in the stores leave it alone. They know who comes for it.
