Silk net is a net of thread so fine it floats when thrown. It is a lesser work, spun in a Guild with the method of Tellan, the Keeper of Tallies. It holds no Seal-shard, it is Plain, and it tears apart after one battle.
It is the work its side brings to the fight. Before the armies meet, it drifts over the whole enemy army. Every enemy company is slowed and strikes later than it would have. The order of striking is a convention of battle, and the net pushes the enemy down it.
Its heavier cousin, Tangle mesh, falls on a single company and drags it out of the air as well. This net does less to each enemy, but it catches all of them. The artisans say the thread is spun thin enough to cling to every enemy at once, and too thin to hold any of them down.
The net has no treasure spirit and no hunger. Its only cost is the ordinary one.
