Spoiled rations looks like a generous shipment of sacks and barrels. It is a lesser work, prepared in a Guild with the method of Tellan, the Keeper of Tallies. It holds no Seal-shard, it is Plain, and a shipment can be sent only once.
Sent to a rival, the rations are eaten, and they kill. Some of that kingdom's people die. The card shows the likely range, and chance decides the number. It is a cruel kind of war. Ordinary folk grow a kingdom's food, and food and shelter set how fast its numbers can recover.
The Human lords exchange gifts with those they trust, and their songs remember this work bitterly. They call it the gift that breaks trust before any word is given. Farmers say rations can smell sound and still carry the sickness, and that the only safe bread comes from your own Farm.
The rations have no treasure spirit and no hunger. Their only cost is the ordinary one.
