Wayfinder is a brass case holding a needle that never points north. It is a lesser work, set in a Guild with the method of Tellan, the Keeper of Tallies. It holds no Seal-shard, it is Plain, and the needle goes still after one use.
Beyond every kingdom's settled centre lies the Mist, ground the Covenant has not yet fixed. Exploring fixes it as Wilderness, and the farther a large kingdom must reach, the more exploring costs. Follow the needle and a stretch of the Mist becomes Wilderness at once, with no exploring to pay for. How much ground it gives is left to chance; the card shows the range.
Rivals cannot carry it off by theft or as plunder. A kingdom may hold only a few at a time, and the card shows the limit.
The Wanderers enter each new Hallow through the Mist. Hired ones like to say the needle points the way they came in. It has no treasure spirit and no hunger.
