Crone mirror is a relic, one of the unique treasures Tellan, the Keeper of Tallies keeps among the Mnemoliths through the Unsealings. Behind its grey glass is an old piece of Covenant-stuff, the substance of the Seal-shards, and its treasure spirit answers to Wefan, the Weaver.
No maker is recorded, and where the shard lay before is unknown. The unearthed, who trade in old relics, say its shard runs Reverie, the affinity of illusion, and that it came from the same unknown hand as Enchanted looking glass. No record confirms it.
The mirror watches over its holder. When a rival casts a hostile spell at the kingdom, or a battle spell at its army, the mirror may catch it and send it back where it came from. It does not catch every spell. No one can say which it will take.
Its watching is not free. In a quiet season the mirror is only a cost. Either way, the holder must keep mana in store to feed it.
Heaven weighs it as it weighs every relic. Holding it makes a kingdom heavier in Weight, and the Law of Equals brings stronger rivals within reach.
