Sacred cup copper

Sacred cup copper is a relic of Lumen, the affinity of order, law, light and protection. It holds an old piece of Covenant-stuff, the substance of the Seal-shards, and its treasure spirit answers to Wefan, the Weaver.

After each battle, the cup restores some of its holder's fallen companies, but only if the holder's core woke in Lumen. A mage of any other affinity gains nothing from it. So does a coreless lineage, which has no affinity at all.

Its hunger does not wait for battle.

It is one of five cups, one for each affinity: Sacred cup copper, Sacred cup silver, Sacred cup skull, Sacred cup stained gold and Sacred cup bright gold. No one knows who made this one, or whether one hand made all five. Sealborn say they were made as a set, so that no affinity would be left without its cup. The songs of the lineages say the copper cup is the one Ysme of Lumen would have wanted, and that she never held it.

Tellan, the Keeper of Tallies keeps it among the Mnemoliths between Turnings. There is one in each Turning, and if it is lost, its shard returns to his keeping for the recasting.
