Beast summoning is a spell of Bloom, the affinity of growth, beasts and living ground that Virenna, the Greenmother holds. It is the simplest of the Bloom calls. The caster reaches into the canopy, and Great ape comes down out of the trees to serve.
Research presses the spell into a Seal-shard, and like every learned spell it perishes at the Unsealing. A veteran who wakes in a new world must recover it again, and many recover it first. Bloom cultivators say that ever since the Age of the First Sealborn, when newcomers first learned to cast, a stranger in a new world has wanted something at their side before anything else.
It is among the simpler spells, so even a mage whose core woke across the ring can learn it. Cast against the grain, it costs more, fails more easily and calls fewer beasts. A deeper realm calls more; the card shows how many. Kingdoms that train Greenmother's Call get the most from whatever answers.
