Summon elf swordsinger is a complex spell of Bloom, the affinity that Virenna, the Greenmother holds. It is costly and slow, taking many turns to cast, and it calls few: Elf swordsinger, the blade-singers of the elves, who dance through a battle line faster than the line can close.
The blade-singers call themselves the Greenmother's pruning knife. On the ring of affinities, Bloom feeds Lumen, because growth orders itself. The blade-singers accept this, and add that order grown too tall must be cut back. They fight hardest against the winged hosts of Lumen.
It amuses them that the order they prune can call them too. Lumen neighbours Bloom on the ring, so a Lumen mage can reach this spell, as can a mage of Pyre. Only mages of Reverie and Umbra, across the ring, cannot. Outside Bloom the call costs more, fails more easily and brings fewer blade-singers. A deeper realm brings more. Research has pressed it into shards since the Age of the First Sealborn, and every Unsealing takes it away again.
