Summon firebird is one of the greatest spells of Bloom, the affinity that Virenna, the Greenmother holds. It is vastly costly, takes many turns to cast, and calls very little: Firebird, a winged shape of fire drawn out of the Welter and held together by Bloom. A deeper realm calls more; the card shows how many.
It lies beyond the complex spells a neighbour can reach, so only a Sealborn whose core woke in Bloom can master it.
Cultivators call the firebird the ring of affinities in a single body. Ash nourishes growth, so Pyre feeds Bloom. The firebird is the fire and the green at once, and it takes a Bloom master to hold both in one shape.
Once called, mana alone sustains it. Weight counts armies, and a kingdom may strike, and be struck by, only kingdoms within reach of its own Weight.
Like every spell pressed into a core since the Age of the First Sealborn, it perishes at the Unsealing, and even a master must recover it again.
