Summon oak maiden is a spell of Bloom, the affinity that Virenna, the Greenmother holds. The caster calls into an oak grove, and Oak maiden steps out of the bark: small grove-folk who fight from a distance with beauty and charm, and break easily if anything reaches them.
The grove-folk say each maiden belongs to one tree, and that the great tree-wardens called by Summon tree guardian are her elders. The grove, they say, sends its young and its old in one breath.
This call is among the simpler spells, so a mage of any affinity can learn it, though across the ring it costs more, fails more easily and calls fewer maidens. A deeper realm calls more. Research presses it into the Seal-shard each Turning, as it has been pressed since the Age of the First Sealborn, and like every learned spell it is lost at the Unsealing.
