Summon rock spirit is one of the greatest spells of Bloom, the affinity of living ground that Virenna, the Greenmother holds. It is vastly costly and takes many turns to cast. It reaches into the Welter and calls out very little: Rock spirit, a shape of stone and shard that Bloom holds together. A deeper realm calls more; the card shows how many.
It lies beyond the complex spells a neighbour can reach, so only a Sealborn whose core woke in Bloom can master it.
Bloom cultivators have a way of speaking about it. Wilderness is ground the Covenant has fixed out of the Mist, which no one has yet built on. A stone spirit, they say, is wilderness that has decided to stand up. They add that it is slow to anger, because ground is patient.
Once called, mana alone keeps it standing. Weight counts a kingdom's armies, and under the Law of Equals a kingdom may strike only kingdoms within reach of its own Weight. A lord who wakes a mountain may find a new rank of rivals within reach.
Like every spell pressed into a core since the Age of the First Sealborn, it perishes at the Unsealing.
