Before the Breaking, the natives' dead went down through Deopa, the Deep and lost their shapes cleanly. The Scar reversed that road, and now they lodge at the threshold of the Deep. Summon specter calls some of them up with no body at all, as Specter.
Ordinary folk tell a story about them. They say the specters are the dead who still remember the road down and cannot take it, and that their grief is what cuts. The Sealborn neither confirm nor deny it. They only note that the specters, like every raising since that of Odrin Half-Core in the Age of Odrin, walk on life borrowed from the living. A kingdom pays for them in people.
The spell is harder to hold than the simple raisings and takes longer to cast. Cast from its own affinity it calls the most; against the grain it calls fewer, and a deeper realm calls more. The card gives the rest.
