Celestial judge is a judge of the astral peoples, who live where Lumen runs strong. A mage casts Summon celestial judge, and it arrives to sit in judgement over the kingdom's enemies.
It strikes first with raw power and then closes with a blade. Its presence can turn a foe aside or fill them with dread. Unlike most called beings, it asks for geld as well as mana. Ordinary folk say its court must be housed and fed. Withdraw that upkeep and it is dismissed.
Lumen is the affinity of law, and this is where Lumen cultivators set its story. In the Age of the First Sealborn, Daegred, the Sunward cast the Law of Equals, and Aefenna, the Lamplighter added the counter so that a recorded wrong could be answered beyond it. The judges, they say, witnessed both, and they keep their own account of every grudge repaid. That account lives in the saying; the only record a mage can point to is the Covenant's own. Many mages have felt watched all the same.
