Dwarf runecaster is a rune-cutter of the dwarves, an affinity-born people found where Pyre runs strong. They carry chisels as other dwarves carry axes. In battle they call down fire and then lightning, and ordinary blows and hostile power mostly turn aside from them. When the fighting ends, they mend their own side.
A Sealborn calls them with Summon dwarf runecaster. Their keep is geld and mana, and their lord may release them at will.
Pyre is the affinity of destruction, and cultivators sometimes ask why its rune-cutters heal. The runecasters answer with a nod to Tellan, the Keeper of Tallies, whose Seal holds back forgetting so that events may be known and recorded. A rune, they say, is a thing remembered in stone, and what is remembered can be mended. What is forgotten is simply gone.
