Evangelist walks into a Lumen kingdom in the shape of a travelling speaker and begins to preach. It is summoned, not recruited: a seasoned Radiant champion in the kingdom's service calls evangelists as its turns pass. Its shape is called out of the Welter, and the kingdom pays to keep it, mostly in geld with a little mana. Stop paying and it is dismissed.
It hardly fights. It is, however, very hard to hurt, and nothing that strikes at the mind seems to reach it. Where it stands, wounds close.
Ordinary folk take it for what it seems: a wandering speaker who goes from village to village, preaching that a word once given must be kept. The Covenant itself, it says, is only the gods' will made binding.
Sealborn are less sure. They say no one has met a speaker's family or learned where one was born. To them it is a shape of the Welter that has learned the words of the Law and nothing else. The folk listen to it anyway. The words are good ones.
