Horned fiend is one of Deopa's creatures, a shape that belongs to the Deep that Deopa, the Deep holds within himself. Its affinity is Umbra. It was never a corpse, and it does not wait at the threshold with the natives' dead.
A mage calls it with Summon horned fiend. Every bargain of the Deep consumes people, and this one is no exception: each turn it serves, the kingdom pays a little of its folk and a little mana. It cannot be dismissed once called, and no shortage breaks the bargain.
The Sealborn count it among the Deep's smaller bargains, less costly in people than the great shapes. Many Umbra mages begin with it for that reason. They remember what happened in the Age of Odrin, when Odrin Half-Core's living folk faded while his army grew. A small bargain still takes people.
In battle it is quick and vicious. It lands an additional strike, its horns carry venom, and it moves before slower troops.
