Poison maiden is a poisoner of the Hallow who sells a quiet death to any kingdom that pays. Hiring one costs geld, people and a little mana, and the Barracks organise the contract. Like every drilled soldier, a Poison maiden is Plain and carries no affinity.
The poisoners say their venom is a craft, not a spell. They steep it over a node, and the small mana in their upkeep keeps it potent. They move swiftly and strike true, and the card shows what the poison does.
Their name is dark among the Sealborn who remember the Age of the Given Word. Flint D. Rook broke his word and struck at the thin places of Ysme of Lumen. Those Sealborn say poisoners walked ahead of that strike, and that some of her guards were already dying before the first rider arrived.
A second line of the same trade hires out as Poison maiden twin. Upkeep is paid mostly in geld, and unpaid soldiers desert. A Poison maiden can be sent home when the work is done.
