Temptress fiend is one of Deopa's creatures, a shape that belongs to the Deep that Deopa, the Deep holds within himself. Its affinity is Umbra. It was never one of the natives' dead.
It is not recruited. A mage calls it, and its card names the calling. Like every bargain of the Deep, it consumes people: each turn it serves, the kingdom pays in folk and in the mana that holds its shape. Unlike the heavier bargains, its card lets its caller dismiss it. The Sealborn say its bargain is light, struck only for as long as the caller wants it.
The Human lords fear it more than its strength deserves. Their songs say it takes the Deep's price from the mind before the body. Its beauty unsettles the soldiers who face it, and it can turn a foe to its own side. A Human lord cannot cast any spell of their own. Its songs teach that resolve, the will, is what holds a soldier's mind in place.
It is quick and winged, and it is still on the field when a long fight ends.
