Genie ring is a relic, a unique treasure Tellan, the Keeper of Tallies keeps among the Mnemoliths across the Unsealings. The plain band holds an old piece of Covenant-stuff, the substance of the Seal-shards. Like every made thing it is Plain. Its treasure spirit answers to Wefan, the Weaver.
No maker is recorded, and where its shard lay before is unknown. The unearthed say the same hand made Genie flask. Where the flask grants one great gift and is gone, the ring gives smaller gifts and stays.
When its holder turns it, the ring calls Boon of chance on the holder's behalf, again and again, before it falls quiet. The ring delivers the spell; its holder does not become its caster. What each boon brings is up to the spell, not the lord.
Its hunger is patience. After each use the ring must rest for a long span of turns before it will answer again. A lord who turns it early in a Turning may turn it again later, but never often. There is no cost in the accounts, only the long wait.
Meanwhile heaven weighs it. The ring makes its kingdom heavier in Weight, and under the Law of Equals, stronger rivals come within reach.
