Orc bowman comes from the same affinity-born people as Orc marauder: native life of the Hallow that grows where an affinity runs strong, and in them that affinity is Umbra. They are living folk, not raised dead and not creatures of the Deep.
A kingdom recruits them through its Barracks for a little geld, a little mana and a person. The Sealborn say this people comes to the muster readily, so a kingdom can field its bows faster than it can drill its own. They are low in upkeep, and their master can send them home.
The Human lineages judge them against their own archers. A drilled Bowman is Plain and learns the bow in the yard. These learned it for raiding. The lineages say the difference shows in a clumsy volley. Still, a Umbra lord short of geld can put many of them behind the line, and at range numbers count.
