Corrupt throne seraph is the greatest of the celestials descended into the Deep. At the Breaking, the Skybreaker tore Heaven's Gate and its pieces scattered as the Seal-shards. At that same Breaking, some celestial beings went down into the Deep that Deopa, the Deep holds within himself. They count among his creatures now, and their affinity is Umbra.
It is not recruited. A mage calls it with The Deepward Step, and the caster does not decide which of the descended celestials comes. It asks mana, not people. The Sealborn say that holding the shape it kept drains a kingdom's mana like no other creature of the Deep. Once called, it cannot be dismissed, and no shortage breaks it loose.
It keeps the beauty, the wings and the healing touch of a celestial like Throne seraph, and it spreads fear through the ranks it faces.
The Human lineages sing that it went down because it saw Heaven's Gate torn, and that it will not speak of what it saw. The same songs say the lineages descend from the Skybreaker, so they listen for any witness. But the songs and the gods disagree about him, and no account settles where he is.
