The other raisings of Umbra each call one kind of dead. Grave uprising calls none in particular. It opens the ground where the threshold of the Deep presses close and takes whatever comes up: Risen corpse, Specter, Bone sorcerer, Blood drinker or Umbra. The caster does not decide.
Umbra cultivators explain it simply. The spell does not ask for a kind, they say; it opens a door, and whichever dead press closest that day climb through. A lucky casting brings up the rarest of them. An unlucky one brings up a crowd of the humblest.
It is still a raising, and it still answers Odrin Half-Core, who first laid his affinity over the pressing dead in the Age of Odrin and watched his living folk fade. Whatever rises walks on life borrowed from the living. Cast from its own affinity it raises the most; against the grain it raises fewer, and a deeper realm raises more.
